Technology

We complement our boutique-style dental care with leading-edge technology to provide more precise, long-lasting, and comfortable dentistry. Here are some of the technologies our Leaf Dental team uses at our Brooklyn dental office in 11201.

3-D Intraoral Scanner

A 3-D intraoral scanner is a handheld device used to create digital impressions. Once we scan parts of the mouth, the scanning software processes a 3-D model and displays it in real time on our touchscreen monitor. These advanced intraoral scanners capture the exact contours and shape of the patient’s mouth and teeth, ensuring more accurate and comfortable dental care. Best part of all, we can reduce the need for old-school, gooey impressions by 90 percent!

Digital X-Rays and Sensors

Digital dental x-rays emit less radiation than film radiographs while providing high-resolution images. We use digital x-rays and sensors for diagnosis and treatment planning, and we can enhance the images to view more minute details on the chairside monitors.

We store digital x-rays in a secure digital chart, so your dentist can easily compare images side-by-side to identify any changes to your smile’s health. Eliminating the need for dental films, digital sensors are smooth, comfortable devices we use to record your dental structure, bone levels, and more to deets issues like root infections, fractures, and decay.

Free High-Speed WiFi

Who doesn’t love free high-speed WiFi? Our patients are busy, and fitting dentistry into their hectic schedules may be a challenge. However, you can check emails, scroll through social media, or check some items off your digital to-do list using our secure, fast, and free WiFi.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Nitrous oxide (“laughing gas”) is a mild, conscious sedative inhaled through a comfortable nasal hood or tube. Safe for most patients, including children, nitrous oxide provides a calming effect that lasts for as long as the gas is inhaled. Once the patient ceases the use of nitrous oxide, the effects dissipate within a couple of minutes. Nitrous oxide is perfect for reducing anxiety and can also benefit patients with sensitive gag reflexes.

Laser Dentistry

Our dentists use laser dentistry for gum recontouring and removing or minimizing canker sores. Laser dentistry streamlines treatment, is less invasive, and promotes faster healing times. Also, with laser dentistry, patients experience less swelling and bleeding, thus improving overall comfort.

Intraoral Cameras

Intraoral cameras are small digital cameras that capture your mouth’s details. Our dentists use intraoral cameras to get a more exhaustive view of your smile, and we can project the images on the chairside monitor so you can see what we see.

Digital Records

Your privacy is important to us, which is why we store your records digitally under encrypted lock and key. Your information is safe with us, and you can access it at any time. We can also send your digital records to your insurance provider, physicians, or specialists.

TVs in Treatment Rooms

Life is busy, and finding a few minutes to yourself during the day can be a challenge. At Leaf Dental, we have TVs in treatment rooms so you can kick back and relax during your appointment. We also use TVs to share information with patients, such as showing dental x-rays, smile designs, treatment plans, and more.

Digital Impressions

A digital impression creates a computer-generated virtual replica of the mouth’s hard and soft tissues. We use optical scanning devices to create a detailed digital impression or model of your smile in a matter of minutes. Unlike traditional dental impressions, digital ones don’t require molding materials; not to mention digital impressions are much more precise.
